About
Weston Lakers Swim Team was organized to provide our youth with the opportunity to participate in a quality competitive summer swimming program, which will provide personal growth, self-esteem, enjoyment, and introduce them to the life-long health benefits of the sport of swimming. The sport will be taught in a fun environment while nurturing a competitive attitude at the individual’s own rate.
LAKERS consider all swimmers as equal and integral members of our team. Our success is ultimately measured by how much opportunity we provide for the youth of our community and by how much their individual potential is maximized. The building of positive attitudes, healthy bodies, disciplined minds and enduring friendships are among the rewards our program strives to offer to those who join. We will be competing in the WHALE League (West Houston Aquatic League). As this is a team sport, all swimmers are required to swim a minimum of 2 meets and the divisional meet which will be held at the end of the season.
As many of you know, swim meets require a multitude of roles and responsibilities. Parents are therefore an essential element to a successful experience for all of our swimmers, and each child’s parents are required to work at two meets per swimmer, the divisional meet and All-stars if your swimmer is on the heat sheet. We hope you understand this necessary requirement.
