Volunteering at Meets
A successful season takes time and dedication: swimmers, parents, and coaching staff all work together to build the best Weston Lakers Swim Team. Please remember that our swim team is made possible by parent volunteers. If we do not have sufficient volunteers at any given meet then we will have to cancel that meet. Hopefully that will not be the case and we will have plenty of parents step up!
The PDF below provides a more in-depth explanation of volunteer requirements, as well as specific job duties. Please reach out to our volunteer coordinator with any questions/concerns at, [email protected], who will help you understand our volunteer needs.
Volunteer Requirements are as follows:
1 Swimmer - You must volunteer at the mock meet and acquire 2 points at regular season meets.
2 or more Swimmers - You must volunteer at the mock meet and acquire 4 points at regular season meets.
Volunteer assignments will be available on a first come, first serve basis when signups open. Volunteer opportunities will be opened around a week before each meet and the date and time they will open will be announced ahead of time. All signups and communication will be via Swimtopia website.
It is up to you which meets you choose to volunteer at and how you choose to acquire you points. For example, both parents can volunteer at a single meet to earn multiple points or one parent could volunteer at four different meets for 4 volunteer points.
Additionally, we ask all parents to volunteer at the mock meet and all parents (of swimmers who qualify,) to volunteer at Meet of Champs.
If you are unable to attend the meets to complete your volunteer requirements, you may nominate a friend, grandparent, older sibling, babysitter or otherwise to complete your volunteer requirement on your behalf.
Optional Training: Judge & Starter

All volunteers must complete the athlete protection here.
